Tue, April 15, 2008 - 7:07 PMJohn Lee Hooker established a blues club years ago which is now managed by his son if the rumors are true. It is in SF directly west of the parking garage that is on the east side of the Japanese pagoda.
There is a club in Santa Cruz which has some fantastic acoustic stuff from time to time. The name escapes me but it is mostly jazz and is just off the downtown area.
Finally don't forget the "Redwood City Blues Jam" which happens every Wednesday right across from the train station.
